Celebrate Spooky Season With Us

A newly-arriving chill in the air this week means only one thing — spooky season is upon us!

For the month of October (and early November) you can celebrate Halloween, as well as other fall-themed festivities, with city staff at some of these fun-filled events:

Halloween Fest

Join us at Maides Park, located at 1101 Manly Avenue, on Friday, Oct. 21 from 6-8pm for safe trick or treating, games, activities, a costume contest, food, music, and more!

The event is free and open to all ages.

Fall Festivities at Fit For Fun!

The Fit For Fun Center will have two more special Halloween-themed days on Friday Oct. 21 and Friday, Oct. 28 (9am – 12pm & 2pm – 5pm). Kids will receive a special prize if they come dressed up in their favorite costumes.

The Fit For Fun Center is located at 302 South Tenth Street.

Special Olympics NHC’s Fall Games 2022

The Special Olympics will hold its Fall Games on Friday, Oct. 21 at Legion Stadium. Athletes will participate in a variety of sports and activities as well as other fun & festive events.

Check-in is at 9am with opening ceremonies kicking off at 10am.

Trick or Treat at the WFD

On Halloween night, Monday, Oct. 31, come on out to any of the nine Wilmington Fire Department stations between 5:30-8pm to get a sweet treat for the kids and check out the fire trucks!

Make sure to check with your neighborhood. The city does not set trick or treating times.

Great Pumpkin Hunt & Movie

Join us at the Fit For Fun Center, located at 302 South 10th Street, on Friday, Nov. 4 between 2-5pm for a fun afternoon of fall games, crafts, snacks, a pumpkin egg hunt, and more! An optional 5:30pm short movie at the MLK Center will follow.

Pre-registration is required (you can do that right here) and there is a $5 fee per child.
