The Wilmington City Council wishes to provide City residents the opportunity to participate in City Government to the maximum extent. The City Council is inviting interested citizens to offer their services to the following Boards, Commissions, and Committees. The deadline to apply is July 30, 2022:
CAPE FEAR PUBLIC UTILITY AUTHORITY – (1) POSITION
*Must be a resident of New Hanover County*
FIREMEN’S RELIEF FUND BOARD OF TRUSTEES – (1) POSITION
*Must be a City Resident*
HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION – (2) POSITIONS
* Must be a Resident of a Locally Designated Historic District in the City*
LOAN REVIEW BOARD – (3) POSITIONS:
- CPA Representative
- At Large
- At Large
MUNICIPAL SERVICES DISTRICT (MSD) ADVISORY COMMITTEE – (8) POSITIONS
*All qualifying residences, businesses, and properties must be located within the MSD*
- MSD Resident
- Owner (or Owner’s representative) of Property (valued at over $2 million)
- Hospitality representative from a hotel or event facility
- Restaurant representative
- Wilmington Downtown, Inc. Board Member representative
- Downtown Business Alliance representative
- Professional Services (Office/Business) representative
- At Large (must own real or personal property in the MSD)
CITY OF WILMINGTON/NEW HANOVER COUNTY COMMISSION FOR WOMEN – (1) POSITION
* Must be a City Resident*
DOWNTOWN PARKING ADVISORY COMMITTEE – (2) POSITIONS
- Downtown Business Alliance representative
- At Large (Must be a City Resident)
SISTER CITY COMMISSION – (2) POSITIONS:
- Representative from Cape Fear Community College
- At Large
WILMINGTON TREE COMMISSION – (1) POSITION
*Must be a City Resident*
JOINT CITY OF WILMINGTON/NEW HANOVER COUNTY WORKFORCE HOUSING ADVISORY COMMITTEE – (1) POSITION
- Representative from the Financial Community (Must be a City Resident)
